SF - The Secret of Attaining Holiness

The Secret of Attaining Holiness

"And they shall make for Me an Ark of acacia wood"
(Shemos 25:10)

The holy mishkan -- Tabernacle -- reveals  the secret of the holiness of man.  The first vessel of the mishkan that HaShem instructed Moshe to make was the  aron habris -- the Ark of the Covenant which housed the Ten Commandments. The Ten Commandments, the essence of the Torah, is the holy nucleus that sanctifies all of the Divine Service that takes place in the surrounding chambers of the mishkan.

Lesson: Just as Torah sanctified the Divine Service in the Mishkan, so too, man sanctifies himself by making the Torah the center of his life. He elevates his mundane activities by intending to fulfill them as a Mitzvah of the holy Torah.

Visualization: Envision the Torah emanating light upon the Mishkan. Sense the holiness of the Mishkan fill your soul. Contemplate on the holiness of the Torah before you act, and fill your deeds with sanctity, joy, and closeness to HaShem.
(Based on the commentary of Ohr RaShaz, The Saba Kadisha of Kelm)

À  LUZ  DO  MUSSÁR

SF - King Solomon's Prescription for Goodness

King Solomon's Prescription for Goodness

"So that you may walk in the way of good people and keep the paths of the righteous" (Proverbs 2:20)

In this teaching, King Solomon, advises us to conduct ourselves with absolute, constant goodness towards our fellow man. We need to be consistent in our conduct and  strive to be kind to others, at all times. Even in situations where one is offended, it is better not to react harshly. Refrain from causing hurt to others so that only good emanates from you.

Lesson: Just like a public road is familiar to everyone, so too, the path of good should be traversed by all, so that only goodness is practiced by society, both individually and collectively.

App: Be inspired to follow King Solomon's prescription for living by being pleasant and kind in every circumstance; as a result, the quality of our lives and those of our neighbors will be elevated, beautified, and filled with joy.

SF - Spiritual Elevation

Spiritual Elevation

Once a man walking through the forest came face to face with a ferocious lion. Shaking with fear, he picked up a stick and hoped to scare away the lion. Unbeknownst to him, a hunter was sitting in a nearby tree. He shot an arrow at the lion before he could attack. The man who was saved began kissing the stick, thinking that it had magical powers. "Don't be foolish!'" called out the hunter. "I shot an arrow that stopped the lion."

Lesson: Whenever we perform a Mitzvah or study Torah, we presume that we are elevating ourselves. In truth, all of the holiness and elevation that we receive through a Mitzvah or Torah study is bestowed upon us by HaShem.

App: As you engage in a Mitzvah or study Torah, reflect on the fact that all of the purity, joy, and elevation that you experience is delivered to you exclusively by HaShem.

You can still participate in this great merit....
