SF - Wellspring of Blessings

Wellspring of Blessings

"You open Your hand and satisfy the will of every living creature." (Tehillim  145:16)

In light of the fact that there are poor people in the world, what is the meaning of "You satisfy the will of every living creature"? HaShem provides enough sustenance in every location for every person, even though the wealth is not equally distributed. He gives prosperity to the rich in order to grant them the merit of showing kindness to those who are less fortunate.

Lesson: When man acts compassionately towards his fellow, the resources of the world suffice to provide for the entire community.

App: Emulate HaShem by sharing your wealth others, if you have the means to do so. If your present financial situation is challenging, trust in HaShem's mercy and compassion.

SF - The Secret of Shalom Bayis

The Secret of Shalom Bayis

The Talmud relates that in Ma'aros Machpelah (the tomb of the Patriarchs), "Avraham is resting in Sarah's arms and Sarah is gazing at Abraham's head." Avraham recognized that since his primary task was Torah study, he was in some measure lacking in kindness. Therefore, "he was resting in Sara's arms" -- relying on her kindness for his completeness. And Sarah recognized that since her primary task was kindness, she was in some measure lacking in Torah. Therefore, "she was gazing at his head -- relying on his Torah for her completeness.

Lesson: Our spouse enriches us in ways that no one else can and compensates for our inadequacies so that we attain spiritual wholeness.

App: Stay focused on the benefits, balance, and improvements that your spouse brings to your life -- and attain a harmonious and joyous relationship.

SF - The Joy of Prayer

The Joy of Prayer

When Yitzchak Avinu prayed for his wife, Rivka, to have a child, "he prayed with the
joy of a wealthy man who had every blessing." Yet, since Rivka was childless for twenty years, surely they endured much distress? If so, why did Yitzchak feel so blessed?

Lesson: Prayer parts the "veil of nature" to help us see the kindness of HaShem that unceasingly flows into our lives. The more Yitzchak prayed for a child, the more he recognized the gift of his own existence. His heartfelt prayers helped him to recognize the endless goodness of HaShem that flowed upon him and upon all of His creations.

App: Envision prayer as a lens that reveals the wondrous kindness of HaShem, your Creator and merciful Father. Increase your joy and love of HaShem with each additional moment of prayer.

Um Grande Princípio

Em Memória de Alter Yossef ben Shmuel, Hanne Bruche bat Hazel, Samuele ben Yossef, Samuel ben Avraham, Regina bat Alter, Braindel bat Shmuel Biniamin e Lea bat Michael Z"L

e-Mussar

Sabedoria para o Crescimento Pessoal

AGADETAS DO TALMUD (*)

SF - Sensitivity and Kindness

Sensitivity and  Kindness

At the time Sarah Emanu passed away she was in Chevron, while Avraham was in Be'er Sheva. It was decided to wait for Avraham to attend to her burial, even though it would delay her burial by several days. Avraham's love, honor, and care of his holy wife, was on the highest level on interpersonal relationships. Therefore, only Avraham could attend to Sarah's burial with the unique
sensitivity and respect that epitomized their dignified relationship.

Lesson: The more love and care a person has for his friend, the more elevated are the acts of kindness that he bestows.

App: When you do an act of kindness, put your heart into it. Perform the kindness with sensitivity, respect, and the utmost care.
