SF - Tranquility of the Soul

Before the soul descends to this world it dwells in the spiritual realm electrified by the awesome splendor of HaShem. At the appointed time, HaShem sends the soul into the body in order to test man and give him the opportunity to earn a share in the eternal World to Come. The more the soul masters over and sanctifies his body, the greater pleasure HaShem will grant him in the World to Come. When the soul is first joined to the body, it stands in trepidation, lest man fall to the tempting earthly desires. Nevertheless, when man exercises his free choice and chooses the good, the soul rejoices in knowing that his life in this world will serve as the means to earn the eternal ultimate delight in the World to Come.

The secret of happiness lies in attending to the needs of the soul. When man decides to fulfill his spiritual mission in this world, his soul attains tranquility. When that occurs, man loves this world and the great spiritual potential it provides. And he looks forward to the ultimate pleasure of attaining closeness to HaShem in The World to Come.

Make a sincere commitment to uphold the Torah and Mitzvot according to the best of your ability. Sense the tranquility, holiness, and wholesome joy of your soul. Strengthen your dedication to Torah each day, and experience new levels of happiness and closeness to HaShem.
