SF - Good Advisors Breed Success

"When there are no strategies, a people falls; but in many advisors there is deliverance" (Mishlei 11:14). There are three basic decision making methods, yet only one is reliable. For example, in some businesses, the CEO alone dictates orders, without consulting with advisors. In most cases this will not fare well because the intellect of man is prone to err. The second system calls for all the employees to render a group decision. This format is inefficient because great confusion and argumentation will result. The preferred process is for many advisors to suggest their own plan. All these plans are submitted to the CEO. He reviews all of the ideas and forges them into one unified strategy. The company will operate on the most efficient level.

The most efficient way to make a decision involving secular matters is to take counsel with several advisors; and then take the best parts of each suggestion and build a solid strategic plan

Apply this system of decision making in your spiritual endeavors, as well. When you have a decision to make, the "many advisors" in your heart give their varied opinions. Look to the Torah and your Rabbi for proper guidance, and you will find the straight path leading to success.
