HaShem is My Light and My Salvation
"A psalm of David: 'HaShem is my light and my salvation, I will not fear; HaShem is the strength of my life, I will not be afraid'"
(Tehillim 27:1).
Despite his many trials and tribulations, King David was always deeply calm and tranquil. The three main fears of man are loss of intelligence, bodily harm, and transiency. King David perceived that his wisdom, i.e., "my light"; his protection, i.e., "my salvation"; and his very life, i.e., "my life" -- are all secure because they come directly to him from HaShem.
Lesson: The Torah relieves us of the three primary fears by revealing that HaShem continuously grants us -- and preserves -- our intelligence, protection, and life.
App: Review the verse,"A psalm of David: 'HaShem is my light and my salvation, I will not fear; HaShem is the strength of my life, I will not be afraid.'" Internalize its profoundly positive message -- and attain peace of mind and tranquility.
