SF - The World Provides Us Opportunity For Spiritual Advancement

What is the correct way for "rational man" to view his existence in this material world? Is it a world of test and temptation, or of opportunity and advancement? The kind Creator would not place man in an environment that conflicts with the nature of our holy souls. As long as we stay focused on our spiritual mission, our interaction with the world serves to elevate and uplift us. Our good deeds in this world, grant us abundant blessing in this world and eternal reward in The World to Come. In addition, the more we sanctify ourselves, the more we elevate the world through our good deeds. In this light, we love the world and the great opportunity it provides for our spiritual advancement.

HaShem created man straight and placed him into this world to sanctify himself and come closer to HaShem. By engaging in the world with goodness, decency, and joy we steadily advance to new levels of holiness and purity.

Envision Yaacov Avinu going to sleep on Mount Moriah when he was on the way to Charan. See him gather stones and place them around his head to protect himself from the wild beasts. Each stone says, "Let the tzadik lay his head on me." Ultimately, all the stones mold into one great stone to that they all have a share in serving the tzadik. Follow the holy ways of the Avot, Avraham, Yitzchak, and Yaacov, and make use of the world to elevate yourself with a constant flow of good deeds.
