As we reflect on the story of Purim, we attain the clarity to see that the miracles that occurred to Esther and Mordecai were awakened by the repentance of Klal Yisrael. As a result, Klal Yisrael realized that the events of every day life are the consequences of our actions. In light of this awareness, Klal Yisrael were inspired to enthusiastically uphold the Torah and gain its awesome rewards.
The awareness that the events of our lives are "hidden miracles" that are brought about by our actions, inspires us accept and fulfill the Torah with joy. We are confident that when we fulfill the Torah, HaShem blesses us and treats us with His most tender compassion.
Envision Mordecai and Esther encouraging Klal Yisrael to improve the spiritual aspects of their lives. Imagine all the people fasting and praying for three days. See immediately afterwards, Haman's evil decree to kill all the Jews is foiled, and Haman is killed. Envision yourself making a few spiritual corrections. Visualize these corrections as keys that unlock the gates of happiness, success, and a closeness to HaShem. (Based on Chochmah U'Mussar of the Saba M'Kelm) |
