"The wine goes in, and the secret comes out!" (Sanhedrin 38a)
What is the secret that "comes out" after "the wine goes in"?
Every Jewish Soul loves HaShem!
We are just distracted from knowing this truth by the material influence of this world.
Therefore, on Purim, when we drink wine, the "secret comes out."
Every Jewish Soul proclaims, "I love HaShem!"
Some people see Purim as a time to "let loose." Meaning, to let go of our inhibitions and follow the whims of our body.
However, this view goes against all of our efforts to live a spiritual life!
Now, we understand why the Talmud (Megilah 7b) says, "Every person is liable to attain the state of "b'sumi" on Purim."
"b'sumi" is Hebrew for perfume.
On Purim every Jewish Soul strives to be as sweet as fragrant perfume.
On Purim every Jewish Soul says, "I love HaShem!" (Based on the teachings of Rabbi Avigdor Miller)
