Special Mission
"The reward a guest receives for attending a wedding is for saying kind words about the bride and groom" (Brachos 6). This statement holds great wisdom about the importance of encouragment. When a new couple begins married life, their relationship is as fragile as a freshly planted sapling. In light of this, the Torah gives us a very special mission to carry out when we attend the wedding. Specifically, the most effective way to strengthen their relationship is to approach the newlywed and say a postive word about his or her new spouse. A kind comment from a friend about their new "better half" will spark confidence and happiness in the heart of the bride and groom.
Lesson: Amidst all the activities of the wedding, remember your special mission. Find an opportunity during the festvities to approach the bride or groom and compliment them on their new spouse. A few choice words will build and enhance the relationship of the new couple for years to come!
Visualization: Envision the new couple as a freshly planted sapling. Say a few kind words to the newlywed and see your positives comments as water that nurtures the sapling. See the sapling take root, grow, blossom, and bear abundant sweet fruits. Receive HaShem's blessings and reward for nurturing a new family in Klal Yisrael!
