Appreciating the People in Our Lives
After Adam ate the forbidden fruit, HaShem asked him why he disregarded this prohibition. Adam responded, "The woman whom You gave me, she gave me the fruit and I ate it." Our Holy Sages reveal that Adam's words intimated a sense of ingratitude to HaShem. Instead, of thanking HaShem for the wonderful gift of his wife, he blamed his sin on his wife, whom HaShem had given him. The precious virtue of gratitude is the key ingredient to a person's success in his spiritual endeavors.
Lesson: Keep constantly focused on the value, worthiness, and goodness of the people in your life and their contribution to your well-being.
App: Take a few minutes each day to reflect and appreciate your family members, friends, and mentors. Thank HaShem for giving you loving relationships, and the joy of companionship and kindness.
