The Unique Insight of King David "The praise of HaShem will fill my mouth and all mankind will bless His Holy Name forever more." Through the spirit of prophecy King David was the first person to recognize that sustenance and wealth flows directly to him from the kindness of HaShem. He saw that HaShem showers him with financial resources, just as surely as a mother lovingly nurses her baby. In light of King David's unique vision and insight, he praised HaShem using the singular pronoun "my," i.e., "The praise of HaShem will fill my mouth." His joyful praise of HaShem for his livelihood, which he saw was as miraculous as the Manna from Heaven, inspires "all of mankind to bless His Holy Name forever more."
Lesson: It is appropriate to reflect each day upon the miracle that our livelihood comes to us as gift from HaShem. Since HaShem sends us our "daily bread," it is fitting for man to recognize, thank, and bless HaShem for His unending, life-giving kindness.
App: Before you eat, takes a second to reflect on the fact that your food is a gift that HaShem created especially for you. Feel the joy of gratitude for HaShem's kindness and make a blessing over your food with thanksgiving to HaShem.
