Sensitivity and Kindness
At the time Sarah Emanu passed away she was in Chevron, while Avraham was in Be'er Sheva. It was decided to wait for Avraham to attend to her burial, even though it would delay her burial by several days. Avraham's love, honor, and care of his holy wife, was on the highest level on interpersonal relationships. Therefore, only Avraham could attend to Sarah's burial with the unique sensitivity and respect that epitomized their dignified relationship.
Lesson: The more love and care a person has for his friend, the more elevated are the acts of kindness that he bestows.
App: When you do an act of kindness, put your heart into it. Perform the kindness with sensitivity, respect, and the utmost care.
