The Secret of Positive Thoughts \ Tomer Devorah D'var Torah: "'I know the thoughts I am thinking about you,' said HaShem, 'thoughts of peace and not evil, to give you a future and hope' (Yermiyahu 29:11). The Torah reveals that HaShem continuously engages in good thoughts and positive contemplations. He mediates on the secrets of the holy Torah, reflects on new dimensions of kindness to bestow upon His creations, and contemplates the good deeds of man. HaShem does not allow any judgement to enter his thoughts, nor does he notice any human flaw, because He is infinitely compassionate. HaShem contemplates on good thoughts, and at the same time filters any negative notion from entering His mind.
Moral: Just as HaShem's thoughts are always good and positive, so too, man, the Image of HaShem, has the power to always have positive thoughts. Our compassionate soul has the purity to keep our minds focused on good and constructive thoughts.
Application: Envision Avraham Avinu welcoming guests into his tent. Sense his warmth and see the joy shining on his countenance. Take note how his positive thoughts and loving feelings fill his heart with joy. Transpose Avraham's positive thoughts to your mind, and fill your heart with wisdom, love, and joy.
