The Most Powerful Merit
The story of Job ends with an amazing lesson about redemption. First the Torah recounts the many sore troubles that he suffered. He lost his wealth, his children perished, and he fell ill. Yet in the end, his wealth was restored and far surpassed his original status. He had seven new sons and three daughters, who were the most beautiful women in the land. What was the secret of the reversal of his fortune? Amazingly, the Torah reveals that his redemption resulted because "Job prayed for his friend!"
Lesson: There is no more powerful merit than putting aside one's troubles and praying for your friend. Take advantage of the wondrous opportunity to empathize with your friend and pray for him -- and receive incomparable blessing, reward, and salvation.
