The Holy Core of Our Being D'var Torah: One of the greatest treasures of Klal Yisrael is Zechut Avot -- the merit of our Patriarchs -- Avraham, Yitzchak, and Yaacov. This merit protects us and grants us favor in HaShem's eyes, even in times when we are not spiritually fit. Nevertheless, there is a good reason why HaShem grants us the gift of Zechut Avot. The holiness and purity of our Patriarchs are attributes which we have inherited and which are embedded deeply in our souls. Therefore, HaShem extends infinite levels of grace and compassion to us because He knows that ultimately, we will discover the pure goodness of our soul. Moral: Just as our Patriarchs were merciful and kind to all of HaShem's creations, so too, HaShem is infinitely merciful and kind to Klal Yisrael, the spiritual heirs of Avraham, Yitzchak, and Yaacov! Application: Envision Avraham, Yitzchak, and Yaacov as three Angels of Goodness protecting Klal Yisrael. Discover your inherent holiness. Be pleasing to Heaven and shine with goodness in your relationships with your fellow human beings.
