My Heart Trusts in HaShem \ Tehillim 28:7
"HaShem is my shield and my strength, my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped, and my heart rejoices, and I thank Him with my song" (Psalms 28:7). King David affirms that HaShem is the source of his protection and his strength, and he places his heartfelt trust in HaShem, alone. When HaShem saves David from trouble, King David expresses happiness and gratitude to HaShem, "and my heart rejoices, and I thank Him with my song." Lesson: King David teaches that our reaction when we are saved from trouble, reveals whether our trust in HaShem is strong or lacking. If a person's trust is not sincere, he will chalk up good fortune to circumstance. Whereas, if a person's trust in HaShem is strong and real, he rejoices in HaShem when he is saved from trouble. Visualization: Envision King David sincerely praying to Hashem, before battling Goliath. Sense his hope and confidence in Hashem. See him hurl the stone that slays Goliath. Hear King David sing joyous songs of thankfullness and praise to HaShem. Transpose King David's steadfast trust to your heart, and rejoice in HaShem. to view the Salant Mussar Library Collection |
