SF - The Joy of King David

The Joy of King David

Our Sages tell us, "King David 'satiated' HaShem with his holy songs and inspirational praises." What are we to understand from the idea that King David 'satiated' HaShem with his Tehillim? Surely the unusual choice of word, 'satiated,' conveys a deep meaning. In light of the fact that HaShem is hidden, it is a challenge for most people to be truely cognizant of HaShem and His constant goodness. Kind David refined his knowledge of HaShem until he attained the highest awareness of HaShem. The infinite goodness of HaShem filled King David's soul with sincere and heartfelt praise, that deeply moved HaShem.

Lesson: King David illuminated the path to joyfully praise HaShem. He proved to mankind that each one of us has the capacity to clearly perceive HaShem's infinite goodness, and express our thankfulness to Him through praise and song.
Visualization: Envision King David playing beautiful music on his harp and hear him singing joyful songs to HaShem. Look at his countenance shining with appreciation to HaShem. Transfer King David's joy to your heart and renew your Tehillim with increased enthusiasm, gratefulness, and closeness to HaShem.
