SF - The Sacredness of Torah

The incident of the spies is disconcerting. After all the open miracles that HaShem performed for Klal Yisrael, how could their faith crumble so quickly and so absolutely? We find that during the year that Klal Yisrael encamped at Mount Sinai they did not sin. Yet, as soon as they left Mount Sinai they fell into a series of sins, culminating in the sin of the spies. As long as Klal Yisrael was at Mount Sinai the holiness of the Torah protected them from the influence of the "negative impulse." When they left Mount Sinai and their heartfelt dedication to Torah, they fell vulnerable to the influence of the "negative impulse."

Torah study creates a protective sanctuary that inspires us with holiness and keeps the "negative impulse" at bay and subdued.

Envision Klal Yisrael encamped at Mount Sinai. Sense the holy atmosphere that permeates the hearts and souls of Klal Yisrael. Imagine Moshe Rabenu teaching Torah to Klal Yisrael, and see the rays of light emanating from his countenance. Learn Torah on a regular basis and keep the negative impulse in-check. Rejoice in your commitment to good deeds, proper speech, and pleasing character traits

SF - Travel By the Word of HaShem

"The Children of Israel traveled at first by the word of HaShem as transmitted by Moshe" (BaMidbar 10:13). In the desert, a Pillar of Cloud guided the Children of Israel on their journeys. The practice of traveling according to the location of the cloud, taught Klal Yisrael a valuable lesson. Specifically, we learned to act according to HaShem's will, as revealed in the Torah. In this light, the Mitzvah of following the Pillar of the Cloud also applies in our day. Meaning, it is appropriate for us to make sure that all of our actions are in accordance with HaShem's will.

The Torah is our spiritual guide that leads us to goodness, joy, blessing, and eternal life.

Envision the Pillar of Cloud is standing in front of you. Before you act, check where the Pillar of Cloud is moving. Follow the Torah's advice and wisdom in all of your endeavors, and be blessed with countless blessings in this world as well as the World to Come.
