The Honor of Dignity Yoseph endured much suffering at  the hand of his brothers, who sold him into slavery. When he was reunited with them, we would expect that he would have sharply condemned them. Nevertheless, when Yoseph revealed himself to his brothers, he simply stood before them and said, "I am Yoseph." He did not issue any cruel or harsh words, whatsoever.  Lesson: Even if someone has done an injustice, anger is always an unacceptable response. Hanucá - O Milagre Somos Nós

AS LUZES  DE  HANUCÁ

      

 

       Com a chegada de Hánuca traremos edições que possam nos inspirar a crescer espiritualmente com esta importante festividade.

 

O jarro solitário que os Macabeus encontraram possuía uma quantidade de azeite suficiente para acender a Menorá por apenas um dia. Milagrosamente, ela permaneceu acesa por oito. Uma vez que havia azeite para arder por um dia, então o milagre de a Menorá permanecer acesa durou 7 dias e deveríamos celebrar Hánuca por sete dias. Por que, então, comemoramos oito dias?

        Os gregos intencionalmente e metodicamente impurificaram todo o azeite que havia no Templo Sagrado de Jerusalém. Eles desejavam erradicar completamente os meios que os judeus utilizavam para servir ao Todo-Poderoso. A existência e a descoberta de um jarro não profanado – apesar dos agressivos esforços dos gregos – foi um milagre por si só.

        Como um Povo, vivenciamos muitos milagres através da História: o Êxodo do Egito, a Abertura do Mar Vermelho, o maná que caia dos céus, a queda de Jericó, o Rei David vencendo o gigante Golias, Purim e Hánuca, para citar apenas alguns.

        Todavia, o maior de todos os milagres é algo totalmente diferente. O maior milagre é a nossa própria existência e a do restante do Povo de Israel. Por todo o nosso longo exílio, não foram poupados esforços para nos eliminar da face da Terra. O fato de existir judeus observantes hoje no mundo é o maior milagre da História!

        Da mesma forma que a existência milagrosa daquele jarro de azeite gerou os milagres de Hánuca, assim também, a milagrosa existência de judeus observantes em nossos dias gerará a nossa milagrosa redenção. E que possa vir em breve!

SF - Look Beyond the Veil

Look Beyond the Veil The story of Hanukah tells us that the Maccabees found a flask of oil that burned for eight days. The jar contained enough olive oil to burn for one day. So why do we celebrate Hanukah for eight days? Wasn't the miraculous burning just seven days! The answer is that nature is not an independent force, separate from HaShem. The Almighty, alone, is the cause of everything, from the sunrise in  the morning until the appearance of the moon and stars at night. At Hanukah time we recognize that even the burning of a flame with oil is a miracle in itself. Therefore, we light one additional day to celebrate the miracle that oil fuels a flame. Lesson: Beyond the veil of nature, HaShem performs the countless and constant miracles of our existence. App: Look beyond the veil and see that it is HaShem Who makes the stars shine, the trees blossom, and the rivers flow to the sea. He grants us goodness and blessings all the days of our lives!
