Com a aproximação de Yom Kipur traremos edições que possam nos inspirar a crescer espiritualmente e merecermos ser carimbados para um Ano Novo bom e doce.

       

 

Ao nos envolvermos no processo de introspecção e revisão de nossos atos, podemos acabar presumindo que podemos melhorar apenas as partes boas da natureza humana, mas não os seus aspectos negativos.

 

Por exemplo: uma pessoa generosa pode se tornar ainda mais generosa, mas alguém de 'pavio-curto' não tem como tornar-se mais paciente.

 

Todavia, uma vez que todas as características humanas têm uma 'raiz doce', é possível elevar e aprimorar cada aspecto da nossa personalidade -- tanto os bons como os não tão bons. 

      

      Desassociemo-nos de qualquer noção de que "melhorar é impossível!".  Ao fazê-lo, o Todo-Poderoso nos abençoará com alegria e sucesso para um ano bom repleto de boas notícias!

SF - The World is Judged With Goodness

Dedicated I'ilu'i Nishmas Rav Daniel Zvi ben Avraham Chanoch The World is Judged With Goodness King David prayed, "HaShem, do not remember the sins of my youth. Remember me according to Your kindness, and may you remember me for the sake of Your goodness" (Tehillim 25:7). Kind David asked HaShem to not remember the innocent sins of his youth, nor the intentional sins of his adulthood. In addition, he asked HaShem to look at him with a kind eye. He prayed, "Do not dwell on the small amount of my good deeds; rather, in Your kindness remember me for the sake of Your goodness." Meaning, let it be considered before You as if I merited many good deeds -- for the world is judged with goodness. Regardless of our past misdeeds, HaShem listens to our prayers and looks upon us with compassion because HaShem is "good to all of His creations." May this powerfully positive understanding of HaShem and His merciful judgments give us the confidence to do our best to improve our ways. Com a aproximação de Yom Kipur traremos edições que possam nos inspirar a crescer espiritualmente e merecermos ser carimbados para um Ano Novo bom e doce.

 

 

       

O Talmud (Pessachim 66b) nos ensina que um convidado deve demonstrar cortesia, comendo quaisquer alimentos que seu anfitrião lhe servir. Entretanto, existe uma situação na qual o Talmud nos diz para não obedecermos ao anfitrião: se ele disser ao convidado para que se retire, que vá embora, o convidado não lhe deve dar ouvidos!

 

        Por que a Torá nos diz, por um lado, para concordar polidamente com os pedidos do anfitrião e, por outro, recusar sua exigência de sair de casa?

 

        O grande cabalista, Rabino Moshe Cordovero (Israel, 1522-1570), nos iluminou sobre o significado desta curiosa declaração do Talmud. Ele explicou que esta passagem é uma parábola, na qual o anfitrião representa D'us e o convidado representa os seres humanos. Há vezes em que a pessoa sinceramente se dedica a arrepender-se e retornar ao bom caminho, porém todas as suas tentativas parecem dar em nada. É como se os Céus estivessem rechaçando os seus esforços. Num caso assim, a pessoa poderia entender os eventos como sendo uma mensagem Divina dizendo: "Saia de Minha casa. Eu não aceito que você volte a Mim".

 

        Em resposta a esta situação, em que a pessoa pode entrar em desespero, a Torá nos diz: "Não dê ouvidos ao Anfitrião!", significando: não interprete as suas dificuldades em arrepender-se e voltar ao bom caminho como sendo um sinal de que o Todo-Poderoso o rejeitou. Pelo contrário, fique tranquilo, pois Ele é misericordioso e sempre demonstra compaixão e amor por todas as pessoas que querem se aproximar Dele.

 

        Se algum desafio nos está muito difícil, não desistamos, pois D'us NUNCA desiste de nós. Isto é especialmente válido em Yom Kipur, como nos ensinou o Rei David: "Procure o Todo-Poderoso quando Ele está presente, reze a Ele quando está mais próximo".

SF - The Gift of Torah

Dedicated I'ilu'i Nishmas Rav Daniel Zvi ben Avraham Chanoch The Gift of Torah "HaShem gave us the Torah and implanted eternal life within us" (Mishlei 23:5). HaShem  lovingly gave us His precious Torah at Mount Sinai to elevate and sanctify our lives in this world, and to attain our share of eternal delight  in the World to Come. In addition, prior to Mount Sinai, only our holy Avos --  the Patriarchs -- merited to receive the Torah and understand its wisdom. When HaShem gave us the Torah at Mount Sinai, He revealed to us His great love and compassion. At that special time, He implanted the wisdom of Torah in the hearts of the entire Klal Yisrael for all generations. Lesson: When Moshe received the Torah at Mount Sinai, he effectively brought the Torah down from Heaven to the earth. Every Jewish person has the inherent capacity to understand the Torah and her secrets, because HaShem implanted the Torah in our very hearts and souls. Visualization: Envision the light of the Torah emanating from HaShem and filling your heart and soul with its wisdom and holiness. May the awareness of our intrinsic understanding of Torah, inspire us to pursue Torah study and its practice with enthusiasm, strength, and joy.
