              Muitas pessoas se perguntam: "Por que o estudo de Torá é tão apreciado pelo Povo de Israel? Por que a pessoa se sente bem quando lê palavras com ensinamentos da Torá?"

       A Porção Semanal da Torá desta semana nos conta que logo antes de D'us dar a Torá ao Povo de Israel no Monte Sinai, eles declararam: "Tudo o que o Todo-Poderoso falou nós faremos e ouviremos". Todavia, eles fizeram esta declaração antes de receber a Torá. Por que, então, utilizaram o verbo no passado (Tudo o que o Todo-Poderoso 'falou')? Deveriam ter se expressado: "Tudo o que o Todo-Poderoso 'disser'"?

       A resposta é que D'us revelou a Torá às pessoas da geração de Moshe antes que elas descessem a este mundo: Ele ensinou a Torá às suas almas antes de elas nascerem. Foi por isso que elas disseram: "Tudo o que o Todo-Poderoso falou" - no Mundo das Almas - "nós faremos e ouviremos". Posteriormente D'us outorgou-lhes a Torá neste mundo para que pudessem refinar e aprimorar o seu corpo através dela.

       O mesmo acontece com todos nós em todas as gerações. O Talmud nos relata que um anjo ensina Torá ao bebê dentro do ventre de sua mãe durante os meses da gestação. Assim nossas almas são iluminadas com a luz e a sabedoria da Torá da mesma maneira que o foram a geração do Monte Sinai.

       Eis então a resposta à nossa questão inicial: o Povo de Israel aprecia e se sente bem ao ler e ouvir palavras de Torá porque nossas almas se preencheram com a sua luz e sabedoria desde a nossa concepção.

       Que ela possa fluir de nossos corações como um manancial de sabedoria e alegrias!

The Sunshine of our Soul Intuitively we sense that real and wholesome love is the sunshine of the soul. Yet, where is meaningful love found? HaShem taught us the Torah at Mount Sinai, with the warmth of a sage, whose heart overflows with love and mercy for his students. The Torah is the very essence of eternal and perfect love. Therefore, HaShem lovingly grants us the Torah and teaches us with everlasting love, compassion, and kindness. Lesson:Just as a mother lovingly provides sweet milk for her baby whenever her baby needs to eat, so too, HaShem lovingly provides us with the nectar of Torah, whenever we so desire to partake of its lifegiving nourishment. Visualization: Envision that you are a young child in the care of the most loving, kind, and compassionate teacher. Feel the warmth, joy, and encouragment of being in his presence. Transfer those wonderful feelings to receiving Torah from your Merciful Creator, Who loves you with everlasting love, kindness, and compassion.    "Eu me deitei e dormi; acordei, pois o Todo-Poderoso me apoia"

(Salmo 3:6)

 

        O Rei David sofreu muitos testes difíceis durante o curso de sua vida. Por exemplo: ele teve que fugir para salvar sua vida pois o rei Saul que queria matá-lo e teve que se proteger de seu próprio filho que tentou usurpar o trono.

        No entanto, o Rei David declarou: "Eu me deitei e dormi", ou seja, "Eu me deitei com um profundo senso de segurança e dormi em paz" - como uma pessoa que não tem nada a temer. Apesar de seus problemas, ele manteve a sua calma interior. Mais ainda, ele disse: "Acordei" com perfeita confiança em D'us porque "eu sabia que Ele iria me apoiar". Uma pessoa que tem muitas dificuldades e situações de pressão na vida geralmente acorda em um estado de ansiedade. As preocupações que ocupam sua mente quando está acordada despertam pensamentos e sonhos perturbadores quando ela dorme. Aí a pessoa acorda transtornada e agitada.

        Sua grande fé conseguia neutralizar a negatividade que acompanha o medo e a preocupação, muito além do que se poderia conseguir apenas através de pensamentos positivos. Ao se deitar, o Rei David fortalecia a sua confiança de modo a estar absolutamente seguro de que o Todo-Poderoso iria ajudá-lo: "Eu sei que D'us vai me apoiar". Assim, pensamentos positivos enchiam o seu coração enquanto dormia e estimulavam sonhos positivos. Ao despertar, ele estava descansado, confiante e sereno.

        Antes de dormir, apliquemos o método do Rei David de remover quaisquer traços de apreensão de nossos corações ao fortalecermos a nossa confiança no Criador. Aí, então, dormiremos um sono repousante e reparador e acordaremos revigorados, tranquilos e certos de que D'us irá nos apoiar em todos os nossos esforços!

SF - King David's Unbounded Gratitude

King David's Unbounded Gratitude "They will express the remembrance of Your great goodness, and they will rejoice in Your gifts of kindness" (Tehilim 145). King David praises HaShem for the blessings of sustenance that He showers upon all of His creations. Looking deeper into the matter, King David reveals an addtional dimension of gratitude to HaShem. In light of the fact that no man is without flaw, we cannot assume that we are entitled to receive HaShem's magnificent kindness. Rather, all the goodness that HaShem grants us is a gift of kindness, that HaShem graciously bestows. Lesson: The more we are aware that the countless blessings that HaShem grants us are gifts that spring from His unconditional love, the more we will rejoice in His unabated kindness. Visualization: Envision your breakfast as a gracious gift from HaShem. Reflect on the wonder that HaShem created and gave you the gift of life, as a pure act of kindness. Consider that He compassionately grants you a holy soul, intelligence, good character traits, and the opportunity to earn eternal life. Count your blessings and rejoice in His wondrous gifts and His unconditional love for you!               A Torá nos relata que Moshe saiu de Midian com a sua esposa e filhos e partiu para o Egito para resgatar o Povo de Israel da servidão. Aaron, seu irmão, veio ao deserto encontrar-se com ele e aconselhou-o a não trazer seus familiares à escravidão egípcia.
 
            Aaron sentia uma grande empatia pelo sofrimento de seu povo e não queria o sofrimento adicional de mais uma família sendo escravizada, especialmente que esta situação poderia ser evitada ao não trazê-los ao Egito. Esta capacidade de Aaron de se identificar e se importar com os outros personifica o mais alto nível de humanidade. 
 
           A sensibilidade para sentir a dor dos outros como se fosse a sua própria é o sinal de uma verdadeira compaixão.
 
           Abramos os nossos corações para sentir as dificuldades dos outros. Façamos todo o possível para ajudá-los a evitar o sofrimento. Confortemos aqueles que estão passando por apuros e dificuldades auxiliando-os, sendo amigáveis e animando-os!

SF - Empathy is the Sign of Humanity

Empathy is the Sign of Humanity Moshe Rabenu left Midian with his wife and children, and journeyed to Egypt to redeem Klal Yisrael from bondage. Aaron came to meet him in the desert and advised Moshe not to bring his family into the Egyptian slavery. Aaron felt great empathy for the suffering of his people. He could not bear to see the added suffering of Moshe's family. Especially since it could be avoided by not exposing them to the difficulties. Aaron's capacity to empathize with others, personifies the highest level of humanity.  Lesson: Sensitivity to feel the pain of others as one's own pain, is the sign of true compassion, Visualization: Envision Aaron feeling great compassion for Moshe's wife and children. See his heart fill with empathy at the thought of them entering the anguish of  this Egyptian bondage. See his eyes moisten as he tells Moshe not to bring his family into Egypt. Open your heart to feel the hardships of others. Do whatever you can to help them avoid pain. Comfort those who are distressed; befriend them and encourage them. SF - A Special Place to Pray

A Special Place to Pray Our holy sages reveal that Avraham Avinu designated a special place for prayer. Whenever he prayed, he returned to that location. Every person who walks on Avraham's path and designates a special place for prayer, will receive special blessings and wonderful merits, His prayers will be answered and HaShem will help him the same amazing way that He helped Avraham Avinu! Lesson: When a person designates a special location to pray, that place becomes enriched with holiness and increased awarenss of HaShem. Therefore, his prayers find favor and grace in the eyes of HaShem. Visualization: Envision Avraham Avinu standing in his special place of prayer. See holiness, awe. and joy fill his heart and soul, as he begins to pray. Reflect on this visualization when you stand in your designated place of prayer. Have faith and trust that your prayers will be pleasing to HaShem, and that He will help you, in the same amazing way that he helped Avraham.
