        A Torá relata: "Yaacov estava sozinho quando um homem lutou com ele até o amanhecer". Este '"homem" era o anjo guardião de seu irmão Essav, que tentou sobrepujar Yaacov. Eles travaram uma grande batalha mas o anjo não foi capaz de derrotar Yaacov.

 

        Geralmente, quando uma pessoa é confrontada com um desafio estarrecedor, seu senso de otimismo diminui. Como Yaacov foi capaz de lutar com um anjo espetacularmente mais poderoso que estava empenhado em destruí-lo?

 

        Yaacov era uma pessoa que tinha suas emoções sob controle. Ele estava constantemente sintonizado com o Todo-Poderoso através de sua percepção e de suas orações. 

 

        Todos podemos superar quaisquer desafios, não importa o quão impressionantes ou preocupantes pareçam, ao nos mantermos focados no Todo-Poderoso. Todo o tempo que estivermos conscientes de Sua presença e orarmos a Ele, Ele irá nos salvar de nossas provações, não importa quão graves possam ser.

 

        Sempre que formos confrontados com um desafio, permaneçamos focados no Criador e rezemos a Ele -- e Ele nos salvará de todos as nossas dificuldades!

How to Master Over Challenges  "Yacov was alone when a man fought with him, until the dawn." The "man" was Esav's guardian angel, who tried to overcome Yaacov. They had a great battle but the angel was unable to defeat Yacov. Usually, when a person is confronted with an overwhelming challenge, his sense of optimism is diminished. How was Yaacov able to contend with an awesomely powerful angel, who was intent on destroying him? Yaacov Avinu mastered over his emotions. He continuously stayed close to HaShem through his consciousness of HaShem and his constant prayer.  Lesson: We can overcome any challenge, no matter how intense, by staying focused on HaShem. As long as we are conscious of HaShem and pray to Him, He will save us from our trials, no matter how severe they may be. Visualization: Envision the angel engaging Yacov in battle. See Yacov immediately overcome his fear by staying aware of HaShem and praying to HaShem for mercy, kindness, and redemption. Whenever you are confronted with a challenge, stay focused on HaShem and pray to Him -- He will save you from all of your hardships. SF - The Miracle of Mercy

The Miracle of Mercy  Bearing insult is one of the most difficult challenges of the human experience. Instinctively we want to hit back with an equally stinging response. In some cases the pain of the offense is so intense, that we feel we simply cannot forgive. Thankfully, the Torah offers us a healing solution that gives us the inner strength to go beyond human nature and grant forgiveness. We know that HaShem uses the method of "measure for measure" to oversee our lives. Therefore, if we overcome our hurt feelings and forgive a person who offended us, HaShem, "measure for measure," will forgive us of all of our misdeeds. In addition, when we open our heart to forgive and reconcile with others, it brings us closer to Hashem!  Lesson: By reflecting on the opportunity of awakening the infinite dimensions of HaShem's mercy, we are inspired to transcend human nature. By opening our hearts with the goodness of forgiveness, we merit to receive total forgiveness and closeness to HaShem. Visualization: Envision Yoseph forgiving his brothers who sold him into slavery. See him contemplate on the blessings of forgiveness and awaken compassion in his heart. Strengthen your faith that just as you forgive others, so too,  HaShem's compassion, love, and forgiveness will surround you. SF - Clarity in Knowing HaShem

Clarity in Knowing HaShem The recognition of the existence of HaShem is the beginning of wisdom and the foundation of spirituality. In this light, our Sages have revealed a simple formula to attain knowledge of HaShem's existence. The formula is based on the principle that all of HaShem's creations are permeated with His supreme wisdom. Therefore, contemplation on the wisdom found in HaShem's creations is the key to perceive the existence of Hashem. Lesson: Contemplation on the wisdom in HaShem's creations is the only effective way to attain the clarity and knowledge of HaShem. App: Observe the wisdom found in one of HaShem's creations. For instance, contemplate on a leaf and identify the aspects of wisdom present in the leaf. Reflect that the Creator, created the leaf with great wisdom -- and enrich your awareness and knowledge of HaShem's existence.
