SF - How to Realy Love Your Friend

Dedicated L'Refuah Shleimah for Rav Moshe ben Devorah

"Love your friend as you love yourself" (Vayikra 19:18). The Torah envisions a beautiful world of sincere care for every human being. Even more, the verse inspires us to love our friends with the same measure of love that we naturally hold for ourselves. The holy Tomer Devorah reveals the secret of how to detach from the bonds of human nature so that we are free to love others without boundaries or conditions. Amazingly, Klal Yisrael exists in heaven as one great super soul. Once we attain the awareness that we are all connected like one family, we immediately realize that every other person is as infinitely precious as our own brother or sister. The combined goodness of every member of Klal Yisrael makes us beloved to HaShem. Indeed every one of our fellow Jews is as beloved and cherished, as is our own family.

Every fellow member of Klal Yisrael is like one of the many invaluable diamonds that collectively form the crown of HaShem, the King of the universe. Just as HaShem loves every member of Klal Yisrael like His own child, so too, the Torah encourages us to love every member of Klal Yisrael like our own family.

Reflect on the verse, "Love your friend as you love yourself." Say it aloud a few times with the intention to instil love in your heart for all fellow members of Klal Yisrael. Visualize your heart as a flower opening with love for every person. Experience the joy of loving all of our fellow Jews with the same magnitude of love that we have for ourselves. Widen your circle of love to embrace love for all mankind.

SF - How to Stay Out of Trouble

Dedicated L'Refuah Shleimah for Rav Moshe ben Devorah

"Happy is the person who hears an offensive remark about himself and remains silent. He saves himself from a hundred troubles!" (Sanhedrin 7a)
It takes great inner strength to hold your tongue when someone makes a hurtful remark. As painful as it is to control your instinct to respond, it is totally worth the effort because if you initiate an argument you will endure much conflict and strife. When emotions are heated an antagonistic comment only adds fuel to the fire. Whereas if you master your emotions and remain silent, you foster peace, friendship, and goodwill.

Make every effort to remain silent in the face of an insult and save yourself from unnecessary anguish and hurtful arguments.

Envision Hillel the Elder, who never lost his patience. Reflect on the episode when someone took on a bet that he could make Hillel angry. He interrupts Hillel on Erev Shabbos when Hillel is in the bathhouse. He asks Hillel a series of foolish questions, which Hillel patiently answers with great wisdom. Note that Hillel keeps focused on maintaining his equilibrium. Imagine his pleasant demeanor, endless patience, and joy of life. Transpose Hillel's tranquilty to your heart and stay calm and collected, even in the most trying circumstances.

GARANTA SUA ATZLACHA - DE TZEDAKA EM PROL DO ESTUDO DOS NOSSOS MENINOS!!

SF - Attain a Happier Life

Dedicated L'Refuah Shleimah for Rav Moshe ben Devorah

"And you shall rejoice with all the good that HaShem, your
G-d, has given you and your household" (Devarim 26:11). The phrase, "And you shall rejoice with all the good" holds a great secret. That is, "All the good" alludes to HaShem, Himself, Who embraces all goodness. In His unbounded love for man, HaShem requires us to rejoice by recognizing that HaShem connects Himself to us. And how is this happiness attained? By reflecting on the fact that HaShem is the Source of all goodness. He lovingly grants each one of us constant all-encompassing goodness, as a gift. Indeed, His supreme goodness flows upon us with countless blessings, kindness, and enlightenment.

The beginning of spirituality is our awareness that our Creator commands us to be happy! What's more, we fulfill this commandment to rejoice in HaShem by recognizing the love that HaShem, the Source of good, continually showers upon us.

Reflect on the fact that HaShem cares about us so much that He requires us to attain happiness by recognizing His incomparable goodness. Envision King David singing to HaShem: "It is good to thank HaShem, and to sing to Your Name, O exalted One. To tell of Your kindness in the morning and Your faithfulness in the evening. Upon a lyre and lute, with singing accompanied by a harp. You have given me joy, HaShem, with Your deeds, at the work of Your hands I sing a joyous song!" (Tehillim 92).
