D'var Torah: Each morning we start our day by making blessings of thanks and gratitude to HaShem. We bless and thank HaShem for the fundamental and essential gifts that He so graciously gives us, every second of our lives. For instance, we bless Him for our intelligence, i.e., that we can think, understand, innovate, and increase our wisdom. We acknowledge that HaShem enables us to stand upright, as well as, gives us the ability to walk in a straight path. We thank HaShem for the gift of sight, and that we are free and not slaves. We acknowledge that HaShem gives us clothes to cover ourselves and that HaShem holds back the oceans from covering the land. These blessings grant us an opportunity to heighten our awareness of HaShem's kindness that always surrounds us. If we express these blessings with heartfelt thanksgiving, our hearts will be filled with great joy. We will be inspired by the clear recognition of HaShem's goodness that surrounds us every second of our lives.
Moral: The blessings that we recite in the morning renews and strengthens our faith in HaShem, and fills our day with appreciation and joy for HaShem's unbounded kindness and compassion.
