SF -- The Amazing Power of Prayer

After 150 days of the great floodwaters, HaShem wiped out all life that was upon the earth. Ultimately, HaShem showed mercy to Noach, and ordered the waters to recede, as the Torah states, "Elokim remembered Noach." Yet Elokim is the name of G-d that signifies Divine judgment. Why does the verse mention the attribute of judgment at the time when HaShem's compassion was awakened? The answer to this question reveals an amazing truth regarding the effectiveness of prayer, especially the prayers of the righteous. The Torah writes Elokim to teach that the prayers of Noach converted judgment into Divine mercy!

The tzadik knows that even at the time of Divine judgment, the true essence of HaShem is mercy. Therefore, he pours out his heart in prayer, pleading with HaShem to awaken the attribute of compassion and overturn the attribute of judgment. Through his sincere prayers, the attribute judgment reverses to compassion, the true essence of HaShem

How can we apply today's lesson in a practical way? Say one chapter of Tehillim with the intention hat your prayers awaken mercy for Klal Yisrael.
