SF - Pesach Recharges Our Spiritual Battery

"And HaShem said to Moshe, "'Speak to the Kohanim, the sons of Aaron.'" The Kohanim are holy and their Divine service in the Temple is holy. HaShem was concerned that Kohanim might feel a little haughtiness because of their elevated status. Therefore, HaShem asked Moshe to inform the Kohanim that they have not attained their holiness on their own merit. Rather, their holiness stemmed from Aaron, who granted them the merit of holiness. This understanding gave the Kohanim the proper sense of humility.

All spirituality, good character traits, and Torah wisdom are free gifts that HaShem grants to man. The more we are aware of HaShem's grace and kindness in all of our attainments, the more humility we will acquire.

When you say Shema Yisrael' reflect on the truth that all of your Torah, Mitzvot, and goodness are free gifts given to you by HaShem. The more you practice this reflection, the more humility you will experience. Once you acquire the true sense of humility, you have the foundation of all good character traits.

SF - Love Your Friend As You Love Yourself

""Love your friend like you love yourself." (Vayikra 19:18) The verse expresses the wonderful ideal to love others with same love that we love ourselves. When we share our wisdom and material possessions with others, we follow the holy way of loving kindness. Still, even when we love others, it is natural to love ourselves more than we love our friends. The Torah instructs to to go beyond human nature, and love other people with the same love that we hold for ourselves.

There are no boundaries in love. Just as we want the very best for ourselves, the Torah elevates us to love, give, and want the very best for our friends.

Imagine that you have a key that opens your heart to love others with the same magnitude of love that you love yourself. Envision using the key to unlock your heart. Feel the joy of your love expanding and increasing until your entire heart is filled with unbounded love for others.
