"Rabi Eliezer disse: 'Não se irrite facilmente' (2:15)"

 

        A afirmação "Não se irrite facilmente" se aplica tanto ao nosso relacionamento com os demais como - tão importante quanto - com nós mesmos.

 

        Certa vez o Rabino Natan Wachtfogel da Yeshivá de Lakewood, nos EUA, foi visitar um conhecido Rosh Yeshivá que estava doente. O Rosh Yeshivá estava nervoso com a sua situação e desabafou: "Recebi ordens rigorosas do médico de ficar em casa e descansar. Entretanto, tenho dúvidas se devo segui-las: se o médico entendesse a importância das minhas responsabilidades na Yeshivá, ele iria me permitir sair!"

 

        O Rabino Natan falou: "Normalmente eu não discordo de uma pessoa que está doente" – e começou a recitar as famosas palavras do Ramban (Nachmanides): "Acostume-se a falar amigavelmente com todas as pessoas, todo o tempo, e assim você evitará a raiva". E explicou: "A ideia de conversar amigavelmente com todos inclui a própria pessoa, isto é, conversar consigo mesmo".

 

Sua mensagem era a seguinte: "Manter a saúde faz parte do nosso Serviço Divino. Em seu caso, em que a sua saúde está em perigo, o senhor está isento de suas responsabilidades de ensinar na Yeshivá. É tão importante tratarmos a nós mesmos de maneira amigável e agradável como aos demais!"

        

        Que possamos seguir este pouco conhecido – mas extremamente valioso conselho. O Todo-Poderoso é a bondade suprema e derradeira e, portanto, todo o nosso Serviço Divino deve ser doce, alegre e prazeroso!

Sense holiness, awe. and joy fill his heart and soul, as he begins to pray. Reflect on this visualization when you stand in your designated place of prayer. Have faith and trust that your prayers will be pleasing to HaShem, and be confident that He will help you, in the same amazing and miraculous ways that he helped Avraham Avinu!        A Torá nos relata que o profeta Bilam disse: "Que eu morra a morte dos justos" - ou seja: ele aspirava os prazeres eternos do Mundo Vindouro. No entanto, logo após fazer essa declaração, ele aceitou dinheiro para aconselhar o rei Balak sobre como prejudicar a nação de Israel.

 

       O homem que professava seu desejo pela vida eterna fez uma brusca meia-volta e perdeu qualquer esperança de receber uma porção no Mundo Vindouro. Como podemos entender a mecânica intelectual de uma mudança tão súbita e extrema em suas metas?

 

       Apesar de Bilam intelectualmente compreender a preciosidade do Mundo Vindouro, ele não incutiu essa ideia profundamente em seu coração. Uma vez que não internalizou seus objetivos espirituais, ele ficou vulnerável às vontades do corpo, à sedução material. Assim que foi tentado pelos prazeres materiais deste mundo (neste caso, o dinheiro), ele abandonou seus objetivos espirituais em troca da gratificação imediata que vinha ao seu caminho.  

 

Um pouco mais de reflexão de sua parte lhe daria a clareza para definir o objetivo de adquirir e poder desfrutar dos prazeres mais elevados do Mundo Vindouro. Ele teria percebido que este mundo é passageiro e carregado de muita frustração e trabalho. Já o Gan Eden é eterno e sua alegria e tranquilidade são supremas e não adulteradas!

This is a precious teaching! Can anything be sweeter -- and more meaningful -- than to know that "you are pleasing to HaShem?" At that same time, attaining the status of "being pleasing to others" requires a person to never be harsh to others, regardless of the situation. One who is consistently pleasing to others, without exception, is pleasing to HaShem.  Lesson: Be soft as butter and sweet as honey to your fellow man, and always be pleasing to HaShem.
