SF - The Joy of Relationships \ Ramchal

The Joy of Relationships \ Ramchal
“It is a great Mitzvah to do everything in our power to bring joy to others.”
(Mesilot Yesharim)

D'var Torah: The Torah gives us golden advice regarding our interpersonal relationships. Specifically, enhance relationships by bringing joy to friends and associates, whether by honouring them, helping them, or by any other means. It goes without saying we should not cause them any pain, whatsoever. This loving approach to relationships falls under the primary category of “bestowing acts of kindness,” a trait which our Sages greatly praised.. In this context, always being kind to others fosters the overall peace and welfare of the community.

Moral: Make your life more meaningful by focusing on other people's happiness.

Application: (1) Make a commitment to strive to make other people happy.
(2) Reflect on a practical way to help or honor your friend.
(3) Activate your plan.
