SF - Stand In the Light

When Klal Yisrael were enslaved in Egypt, many of our people took on the corrupt customs of the Egyptian culture. What's more, they also worshipped the lamb, which was the Egyptian deity. Their total assimilation precluded any chance of redemption. In light of this, HaShem -- in His great wisdom -- commanded them to bring a lamb as the Korbon Pesach. Their fulfillment of this Mitzvah effectively stopped Klal Yisrael from worshipping the lamb. In addition, it drew a line of separation between Klal Yisrael and the Egyptians. Afterall, the Egytians were appalled that Klal Yisrael had slaughtered and eaten their deity, and smeared its blood on their doorposts. Once Klal Yisrael distanced themselves from the Egyptian defilement through the power of the Korbon Pesach, the redemption could begin. HaShem awakened the redemption by putting to death all the first born Egyptians.

The more we separate ourselves from the morals and mores of the secular world, the more we prepare oursevles for the merit of our redemption.

Move away from the darkness and stand in the light. Start the redemption in motion by distancing yourself from the enticements of the secular world.
