Like an awe-inspiring flash of lightening, Hashem's redemption comes suddenly and illuminates the darkness. Instantaneously, it brings enlightenment, freedom, and joy. During the Egyptian exile Klal Yisrael fell into bondage and descended into the lowest level of spiritual impurity. After centuries of oppression, there was no sign of the Jewish people's impending delivery from the clutches of Pharaoh and his taskmasters. Nevertheless, precisely when the situation was most bleak, Hashem redeemed Klal Yisrael in the "blink of an eye."
Just as Hashem redeemed Klal Yisrael from the very depths of darkness in an instant, so too, we need to trust steadfastly that from amidst the darkness of our long exile, Hashem will soon reveal the light of the final redemption. As it states in Tehillim, "Redeem us Hashem as quickly as the flash floods that surge in the Negev," such will be the swiftness of our redemption.
Reflect upon the miracles that Hashem performed for Klal Yisrael at the time of the Exodus: The Ten Plagues, the splitting of the Red Sea, the giving of the Torah on Mount Sinai, and the provision of the Manna in the desert. Be inspired to trust in Hashem absolutely, and believe that at the moment of redemption, He will instantaneously reveal His light and redeem Klal Yisrael for all time!
