"Love your fellow as yourself." (Vayikra 19:18) This profound verse expresses a cornerstone of Torah values—the call to love others with the same sincerity, care, and depth with which we love ourselves. When we offer our wisdom, friendship, and material blessings to others, we embody the sacred path of chesed, loving-kindness.
Even more deeply, the Torah teaches that our love should be so genuine that we wish for our friends the same joy, peace, and wholeness we seek in our own lives.
True love knows no boundaries. Just as we naturally desire what’s best for ourselves, the Torah uplifts us to desire that same goodness, that same fullness of blessing, for others.
Today: Close your eyes and picture Avraham, a pillar of hospitality and boundless kindness, welcoming you with open arms. Let his example awaken your own capacity for selfless love. (Based on the commentaries of Ramban and Da'as Torah)
