SF - Always Be Amazed! \ Chovot HaLavavot

Dedicated to Avraham ben Zerife for Refuah Shleimah

Always Be Amazed!  \ Chovot HaLavavot

D'var Torah: Reflection upon the wondrous creations sharpens our awareness of the perfect wisdom of HaShem, His mighty power, His rulership of goodness, His all embracing graciousness, His compassion, and His care for His creations. What's more, with each new day our power of perception is stronger than the previous day. In this light, our enriched intelligence on each successive day, gives us the opportunity to perceive each entity as if we are seeing it for the first time. The more we examine the amazing creations of HaShem, the more knowledge and joy of HaShem -- and His goodness -- will fill our hearts.

Moral: Each day HaShem renews and strengthens our powers of understanding so that we can reach new and deeper levels of recognizing the splendor and goodness of HaShem through contemplating on His wondrous creations -- and always be amazed!

Application: Reflect on the fact that there are creations in the world ranging in size from minute to gigantic, and on the various levels of rational beings, and the ascending levels of beings from the terrestrial to the angels, and the alignment of the planets, the orbits of the sun and the moons, and the rainfall, and the blowing of the winds, and the birth of babies from the womb, and the more esoteric wonders, all combining to reveal the perfect wisdom of HaShem, His mighty power, His rulership of goodness, His all embracing graciousness, His compassion, and His care for His creations.

SF - The Amazing Power of Inspiration \ Insight Parashat Vayakhel

The Amazing Power of Inspiration \ Insight Parashat Vayakhel

D'var Torah: "Every man whose heart uplifted him came, and every one whose spirit inspired him brought the offering  of HaShem for the work of the Mishkan (Tabernacle), for its service, and for the holy garments" (Shemot 35:21). The Torah expresses praise and wonder of the perfect integrity of Klal Yisrael. There was not one person amongst the entire nation who did not fulfill his resolution to donate the materials to build the Mishkan. This is remarkable in light of the fact that, in general, people who feel inspired to donate to a particular cause, do not act on their emotion until they are prompted to do so. In contrast, amazingly, every single member of Klal Yisrael actualized their good intentions into positive actions.

Moral: The inspiration of participating in the construction of the Mishkan, elevated the entire Klal Yisrael to act above the norms of human nature.

Application: Reflect on the idea that each Mitzvah that we perform and every word of Torah that we learn, sanctifies us, brings us close to HaShem and His wondrous blessings, and grants us a share in the eternal World to Come. Let the joy of this knowledge inspire you to fulfill all of the Mitzvot and all the good deeds that your heart is uplifted to perform.

SF - The Precious Attribute of Sharing \ Insight Parashat Vayakhel

The Precious Attribute of Sharing  \ Parashat Vayakhel

D'var Torah:
HaShem filled Betzalel with the rare and precious wisdom of crafting the intricate vessels of the Mishkan. He was a master craftsman in every creative field, most particularly in gold and  silver handiwork, precision engravings, and ornamental embroideries. Creative geniuses often choose not to share their wisdom with others, yet, Betzalel graciously shared his wisdom with other people. He delighted in giving others the opportunity to  participate in the great Mitzvah of building the Mishkan, the dwelling place of the Shechinah.

Moral: Just as HaShem reveals to us many valuable secrets and grants us the gifts of talent and creativity, so too, it is praiseworthy for us to share our wisdom, advice, and knowledge with our friends and loved ones. The more we enlighten others, the more HaShem will bless us, grants us happiness, and expand our wisdom.

Application: Envision Betzalel receiving wisdom from HaShem and forming the exquisite vessels of the Mishkan. See Betzalel joyfully sharing his precious wisdom with all who expressed interest in joining the holy work of building the Mishkan. Be inspired to share your wisdom, assistance, and suggestions in a loving way, with everyone who could benefit from your talents and goodness.

Sabedoria para o Crescimento Pessoal

À  LUZ  DO  MUSSÁR

SF - The Most Precious Gift \ Insight Parashat Ki Tisa

The Most Precious Gift \ Parashat Ki Tisah

D'var Torah: "HaKodesh Baruch Hu said to Moshe Rabenu, 'I have a precious gift in My treasure house. It is called Shabbos! And I want to give it to the People of Israel. Go and inform them.'" Shabbos is the most important gift that HaShem gave to Klal Yisrael. In fact, Shabbos is like a diamond wedding ring that HaShem gave us, symbolizing our unique relationship to HaShem. As long as we observe Shabbos, we maintain our close status with HaShem. This is similar to a couple who are engaged to be married. If they stop seeing each other, it raises suspicions that, perhaps, they broke their engagement. However, as long as the bride-to-be wears her engagement ring, it is clear that they intend to go forward with their wedding.

Moral: Klal Yisrael is the bride of HaShem, and Shabbos is our engagement ring. As long as we observe the holy Shabbos, we safeguard our eternal marriage contract with HaShem.

Application: When you sit at your Shabbos table on Friday night, envision that you are celebrating the wedding feast of Klal Yisrael and HaShem. Experience the joy of knowing that you, and all of Klal Yisrael, are HaShem's bride.
