The Amazing Power of Inspiration \ Insight Parashat Vayakhel D'var Torah: "Every man whose heart uplifted him came, and every one whose spirit inspired him brought the offering of HaShem for the work of the Mishkan (Tabernacle), for its service, and for the holy garments" (Shemot 35:21). The Torah expresses praise and wonder of the perfect integrity of Klal Yisrael. There was not one person amongst the entire nation who did not fulfill his resolution to donate the materials to build the Mishkan. This is remarkable in light of the fact that, in general, people who feel inspired to donate to a particular cause, do not act on their emotion until they are prompted to do so. In contrast, amazingly, every single member of Klal Yisrael actualized their good intentions into positive actions.
Moral: The inspiration of participating in the construction of the Mishkan, elevated the entire Klal Yisrael to act above the norms of human nature.
Application: Reflect on the idea that each Mitzvah that we perform and every word of Torah that we learn, sanctifies us, brings us close to HaShem and His wondrous blessings, and grants us a share in the eternal World to Come. Let the joy of this knowledge inspire you to fulfill all of the Mitzvot and all the good deeds that your heart is uplifted to perform. (Based on the commentary of the Chidah to the Chumash) |
