D'var Torah: A careful look at Jewish history shows us that we can never be "counted out." When Avraham and Sara reached their elderly years, did anyone imagine that they would be blessed with a child of their own? When Yoseph languished in an Egyptian dungeon for twelve years, did anyone imagine that he would become a king? When Moshe was a little baby floating on the Nile, did anyone imagine he would lead Klal Yisrael out of Egypt? Likewise, we have been in exile for two thousand years. Some of the nations foolishly assume that we will not be redeemed. We arm ourselves with the knowledge of our miraculous history and fire up our hope that HaShem will soon redeem us. There is nothing more imperative than to trust in HaShem's promise to return us to the Land of Israel, rebuild the Temple, and bring the enlightenment of the Messianic Age.
Moral: Just as HaShem performed countless miracles for our ancestors, so too, He will absolutely fulfill His promise to reveal Himself and bring the miracles of the final redemption.
Application: Renew and strengthen your faith that Klal Yisrael can never be "counted out." In an instant HaShem will absolutely and unquestionably bring us from darkness to light!
