SF - The Relationship Between Happiness and Health \ Parashat Vayira

The Relationship Between Happiness and Health \
Parashat Vayira
"The joy of Sara produced the spiritual radiance of Yitzchak, who illuminated the world with happiness and healing."
D'var Torah: "And they (the angels) asked him (Avraham), "Where is Sara, your wife"? He answered, "She is here in the tent" (Bereishis 18:9). Hashem already revealed to Avraham (in Parashat Lech Lecha) that he and Sara would have a son. If so, why was it necessary for the angels to again convey that she would have a son? The Torah reveals that it was very beneficial for Sara to hear the good news directly from the mouth of the angels. When Sara heard the prophetic words that she would give birth to a son, her heart filled with joy and gratitude. These positive emotions strengthened her pregnancy. When the heart of a pregnant woman scintillates with genuine happiness, it creates the perfect environment for her baby to thrive, both spiritually and physically.

Moral: Yitzchak's name connotes happiness. The joy of his mother produced the spiritual radiance of Yitzchak, who illuminated the world with happiness and healing.

Application: When you pray to HaShem, feel the joy of knowing that HaShem, the Source of goodness, listens to your prayers. Be inspired and revitalized in knowing that HaShem loves you, purifies you, and grants you the ultimate delight of being in the Presence of the holy Shechinah.
