SF - The Spark of Holiness Within Every Challenge

"And Yehudah approached him and said, 'HaShem is with me'" (Breisheit).

A spark of holiness is found within every hardship. HaShem kindles that spark of holiness but remains hidden within “the robes of the hardship.” When we encounter trouble it is a test of faith. If we sincerely believe that HaShem is present within the challenge, HaShem will reveal Himself and the hardship will disappear.

This profound insight sheds light on the opening verse of this week’s Torah reading cited above. Yoseph orchestrates the heartbreaking drama and threatens to enslave Benyamin, the beloved son of Yaacov Avinu. Yehudah, rising to the occasion, strengthens his trust that HaShem is present in this terrible adversity. He calls out, “HaShem is with me!” Almost immediately, HaShem moves Yoseph’s heart to reveal himself to his brothers, and the high tension transforms into reconciliation, joy, and peace.

When you encounter “life challenges,” hold your faith that HaShem is with you. Pray to HaShem and He will rescue you from your dire straits. HaShem will convert your darkness to light, your sadness to joy, and your anguish to peace of mind!
