SF - It's Worth Being Alive Just to Recite Modeh Ani!

The moment we awaken in the morning is the most important time of the day. The realization that HaShem has restored our soul is so significant that it is worth being alive just to recite Modeh Ani! We immediately reflect that we are in the presence of HaShem, the eternal King, and contemplate upon the wonder of our existence. We joyfully recite Modeh Ani and gratefully acknowledge the Creator for granting us the most precious gift, the gift of life. Indeed, the Modeh Ani prayer sets the pace for the day; for us to be aware of HaShem's infinite kindness and dedicate ourselves to fulfill His Mitzvot.

The ultimate purpose of man is to recognize the existence of HaShem and to attain clarity that HaShem is the Source of Life. Then to express our sincere gratitude to Him, for there is nothing more important for man than to praise HaShem.

Envision King David awakening from his sleep. See him take up his harp and sing a joyful song praising HaShem for mercifully granting him the gift of life. Imagine the sweet music and his beaming countenance, expressing his heartfelt thanks to HaShem for granting him another day.
