"We hope for Your salvation all day long" (Shemoneh Esrei). Success and happiness blossoms from steadfast trust in HaShem. A constant positive attitude is a healing tonic for the soul. We are so confident in HaShem's kindness that we fill our hearts with the joy of trust, even before our hope comes to fruition. In fact, our very faith and trust in HaShem causes the fulfillment of our hope. The root of happiness is our trust in HaShem. As man continuously strengthens his trust in HaShem's kindness, he is always filled with the joy and delight of optimism. On one fateful occasion, King David led the men of the city, Ziklag, to battle the Philistines. Upon their return, they saw smoke rising from Ziklag. They soon realized that in their absence, the Amalekites had attacked their city. They captured the Jewish women and children, including David's two wives, and burned the city to the ground. King David and his men fell to the ground and cried until they had no more strength to cry. Despite the unspeakable pain of this great tragedy, King David mustered his resolve by putting his trust in HaShem, as per the verse, "David strengthened himself in HaShem, his G-d." He picked himself off the ground, rallied his troops to thrash Amalek -- and miraculously recovered all of the women and children alive and safe. If we strengthen our trust in HaShem, there is hope even in the most seemingly desperate situation.
Envision King David picking himself off the ground and "putting his trust in HaShem, his G-d." Sense how the spirit of HaShem fills his heart with courage, hope, and powerful faith. Resolve to strengthen your full trust in HaShem, even in the most challenging crisis. Be confident that He will help you to always overcome, flourish, and succeed!
