SF - Spiritual Ascent

Spiritual Ascent Inspiration: The purification process for tzaras -- a spiritual disorder caused by slanderous speech -- requires two birds. That is, the person who spoke disparagingly is required to bring two birds to the Temple. The Kohen (Priest) performs a ceremony with one bird which renders atonement for the person who spoke negatively about his friend. This process motivates the person to eliminate improper speech and to correct his character. The second bird is set free to fly off to "an open field." The flight of the bird symbolizes that man can soar out of the pitfalls of human nature and ascend to a life of purity and goodness. Lesson: Regardless of our actions, HaShem always gives us the opportunity to renew and uplift ourselves. Visualization: Envision the bird being released by the Kohen. See him soar to the heights and land in an open field, teeming with life. Imagine that you are that bird. See yourself soar above human nature and ascend to holiness and purity. Experience the joy of forgiveness and personal redemption. À  LUZ  DO  MUSSÁR

      

      

    

    Era uma vez uma escada com dez degraus encostada na lateral de uma casa. Mesmo sendo cada degrau exatamente da mesma dimensão e feito da mesma madeira, o mais alto sentia-se superior a todos os outros degraus. Embora tivesse um sentimento de arrogância em relação aos degraus mais baixos, ele era particularmente insolente com o degrau inferior da escada, que pendia muito abaixo dele e apenas a uma curta distância do chão. Olhando com condescendência para os degraus, ele gritava com grande orgulho: "Eu fui escolhido para ficar acima de vocês e, portanto, sou o degrau maior e mais importante de todos".

 

Enquanto o degrau superior fazia suas observações sem sentido, um vizinho passou e ouviu a sua arrogante declaração. Ele rapidamente estendeu a mão e começou a virar a escada ao contrário. Logo o degrau mais baixo sentiu-se voar até o topo, enquanto o degrau mais alto, de repente viu-se caindo do ponto mais alto ao mais baixo! Quando o degrau arrogante viu o que aconteceu, ele imediatamente se arrependeu de toda a sua presunção. O degrau mais baixo, que agora se encontrava no topo da escada, tomou muito cuidado de não nutrir nenhum sentimento de orgulho, pois não queria sofrer o mesmo destino do degrau orgulhoso.

 

A escada nesta parábola é uma alusão à dinâmica espiritual da riqueza neste mundo. A partir de nossa perspectiva terrena parece que o dinheiro vem às nossas mãos através dos esforços que fazemos, ou seja, nosso trabalho, criatividade ou profissão. Na verdade, cada centavo que entra em nossas mãos foi decretado anteriormente nos Céus. D'us sozinho decide quem deve ser rico e quem deve ser pobre.

 

Se uma pessoa é rica, que lembre que foi o Todo-Poderoso sozinho Quem a abençoou com toda a sua prosperidade. Ao refletirmos sobre essa verdade, a arrogância não trará a reversão de nossa sorte. Pelo contrário, manteremos um sentimento de humildade e permaneceremos com nossas posses e/ou riquezas!

SF - The Path to Prosperity

The Path to Prosperity Inspiration: "Fortunate is the person when the G-d of Jacob is his help, his trust is in HaShem, his G-d" (Tehillim146:5).  At one point in his life, Yaacov Avinu (Jacob) fell into impoverishment and servitude to Lavan. Yaacov met every hardship by strengthening His trust in HaShem: "I trust in Your deliverance." HaShem ultimately granted him great wealth and saved him from the deceptions of Lavan. So too, HaShem will ultimately grant redemption and prosperity to every person who trusts sincerely in Him.  Lesson: When a person trusts wholeheartedly in HaShem for his livelihood, HaShem provides all of his needs. If he endures hardship in order to serve HaShem, it is absolutely certain that HaShem will save him from all of his troubles. SF - The Blessing of Longevity

The Blessing of Longevity When the sages asked Rabbi Zera why he merited to live to such a ripe old age, he responded, "I never showed any strictness with my family." With all the possible stressful situations at home, it is amazing that Rabbi Zera always kept a calm and pleasant demeanor! His mastery over his emotions yielded many productive years of life.     Lesson: Staying calm in the face of family challenges, keeps life at home consistently pleasant and grants one HaShem's blessing for a long life. App: Prepare yourself to always go easy and "roll with the punches" when dealing with your family.
