How to be Happy for Your Friend's Success
Inspiration: At the dedication of the Mishkan (Tabernacle), Moshe said to Aaron, "My brother, HaShem wants to appoint you to serve as the Kohen Gadol (High Priest)." Aaron responded, "Moshe, you built the Mishkan. It is only right that you should serve as the Kohen Gadol!" Moshe answered, "I am as happy for you to serve as the Kohen Gadol, as if it was I who was appointed. For just as you were happy for me when HaShem appointed me to lead Klal Yisrael out of Egypt, so too, I am happy for you, that HaShem has appointed you to be the Kohen Gadol!"
Lesson: Sensitivity and love between two people creates the perfect balance between humility and encouragement.
Visualization: Envision Aaron's disquiet about his being appointed the Kohen HaGadol. See the concern on his countenance of taking the position that he felt his brother Moshe deserved. Imagine Moshe joyfully encouraging Aaron to accept the position of Kohen Gadol. Awaken the feelings of love and sensitivity in your heart, and balance your relationships with humility and encouragement.
