SF - The Breath of Life \ Tomer Devorah

The Breath of Life \ Tomer Devorah
"Rejoice in knowing that you are connected to HaShem, the Source of Life."
D'var Torah: "There is not one second of our existence in which HaShem does not nurture our souls with the holy gift of life" (Tomer Devorah, Chapter One). Just as HaShem breathed the breath of life in Adam HaRishon, so too, HaShem continuously breathes a living soul into every human being, every second of our life. The gift of life is the most revealed aspect of HaShem's existence as well as the most explicit expression of His infinite compassion. Just as an illuminated light bulb connects to a source of electricity, so too, it is evident that every living thing is rooted in HaShem, the Source of Life. Indeed, the fact that we are alive with life is the most significant proof that we emanate from HaShem, Who holds the secrets of life.

Moral: HaShem, the Source of Life, mercifully breathes life into our nostrils each moment of our lifetime.

Application: Reflect on the verse, "And he breathed a living soul into his nostrils." Chant the verse aloud to internalize its message. Thank HaShem for every second of life and every breath you take. Rejoice in knowing that you are connected to HaShem, the Source of Life.
