"Moshe received the Torah from Sinai and transmitted it to Yehoshuah," (Avos 1:1). It would be far more accurate to say, "Moshe received the Torah from Hashem." What is the significance of saying that Moshe got the Torah from a "mountain." Isn't this like saying, "My plate gives me my food." What happened to Mom?
The emphasis of the location --"Sinal" -- is to inform us that the Torah is accessible any place on planet earth. Even in the most distant desert.
Wherever and whenever we study Torah, Hashem is right there with us, teaching us the holy wisdom of Torah.
Envision the place where you are studying Torah is Mount Sinai and that Hashem is lovingly teaching you the secrets of the Torah. |
