The Three Moral Guideposts \ Pirkei Avot 1:18
D'var Torah: "Rabban Shimon ben Gamliel said, 'The world stands on three ideals: on justice, and on truth, and on peace.'" In a enlightening revelation of wisdom, the Torah defines the three integral components that form the foundation of a healthy family, society, and world. "Justice" is rendered by wise and moral courts, "truth" is found when people are honest and do not lie to each other, and "peace" prevails when it exists both between nations as well as in interpersonal relationships. Moral: The commitment to treat each other with moral clarity, integrity, and peace are the building blocks of creating a good world that is morally sound and safe. Application: Make every effort to treat all people fairly and compassionately; always speak truthfully; and strive to be at peace with every person and in every situation .
