D'var Torah: Before creation there was no notion of the universe, nor of any creature, no angels, not even one human soul. HaShem, with supreme compassion, kindness, and wisdom, conceived of the idea of man. He created heaven and earth to serve as our home. He made the sun, moon, stars, and constellations. HaShem filled the world with trees, grass, herbs, rivers, and varied living creations. Afterwards, when the world was filled with goodness, He created mankind, in the holy "image" of HaShem.
Moral: HaShem's thoughtfulness and His conceptualization of man, was the impetus of creation. The unbounded mercy of HaShem, our Merciful Father, is the cause of the ongoing continuity of goodness that gives us our existence.
Application: Take a moment to reflect on a loved one in your life. Think of a way to help or encourage him. Then, put your plan into action and bring goodness, comfort, and joy to the world.
