The Power of Absolute Optimism \ Parashat Mikeitz
"And Yoseph said to Pharaoh, "It is not me; it is HaShem Who will give Pharaoh peace." Yoseph did not want to take any credit for interpreting Pharaohs's dreams. Therefore, he humbly expressed to Pharaoh that HaShem, alone, reveals the meaning of dreams. He mentioned "peace" because he wanted to avoid any hint of distress. Yoseph always hoped for peace and he was optimistic that he would give a peaceful interpretation. Yoseph, especially sought to offer a positive interpretation of Pharoah's dreams, because since Pharaoh was was the leader it would impact the lives of so many people. Additionally, Yoseph felt the Divine Presence illuminating his soul, so he was confident that his Divinely inspired interpretation would comfort and encourage Pharaoh.
Moral: An absolutely positive outlook will always result in a positive outcome. Application: Envision Yoseph standing in front of Pharaoh. See the light of the Shechinah shining on his countenance. Hear him assure Pharaoh that he will deliver a positive interpretation of his dreams. Even more, he will console Pharaoh and restore his peace of mind. Approach all of your relationships with a purely positive outlook, and hope for absolutely positive outcomes. (Based on the commentary of Rav Moshe Dovid Valli) We're on a search!
