The Power of Positive Thoughts \ Mishlei 14:22

"Don't those who devise evil go astray? But kindness and truth shall be established for those who devise good" (Mishlei 14"22).

In this passage, King Solomon reveals the power of thoughts, both positive and negative.

A person who conspires against others has "gone astray" in his thoughts. He believes the more he conjures up images of the other person failing, the closer his thoughts will come to fruition.

He is making a magnitude mistake! HaShem knows all of his thoughts and reverses the negative energy. His dark plans will eventually boomerang upon himself. For instance, Haman was obsessed with killing Mordecai. Ultimately, Haman was hung on the very gallows he built for Mordecai.

Conversely, a person who engages in pleasant thoughts towards others will see "kindness and truth." His positive thoughts will draw the kindness of HaShem upon him, and HaShem will bless him with the very good that he hoped for his friend. What's more, the good thoughts that he wished for his friend will be actualized and established as "truth." The positive thoughts will blossom with goodness both for him and his friend.

As human beings, it can be challenging to maintain positive thoughts. Yet once we realize the tremendous benefit -- for ourselves as well as our friends -- we will be inspired to energize our minds with good thoughts.

Positive thoughts will permeate both our lives as well the lives of our friends with unbounded kindness and fill our souls with joy, peace, and goodness.

May the souls who left this world be remembered for a blessing.
