SF - The "Golden Education"

"Every generous-hearted person shall bring it, Hashem's offering: gold, silver, and copper" (Shemos 35:5).

All service vessels, whether made of gold, silver, or copper, were acceptable. However, the Cherubim, the angelic figures mounted over the Ark of the Covenant, had to be explicitly made of gold.

Rabbi Meir Shapiro derived a profound insight from this directive. Since the faces of the Cherubim were childlike, they had to be crafted from pure gold. The lesson is that we must not compromise on our children's Torah education; only the best should suffice. If we invest wholeheartedly in their Torah education, we will merit Divine Assistance in guiding them.

Rabbi Sternbuch recalls how his widowed mother hired tutors to teach Torah to her children in the evenings. She was willing to financially sacrifice to provide her children with a "golden Torah education."

Today, we should make every effort to teach Torah in a way that qualifies as a "golden Torah education.
