SF - The Irrepressible Jewish People \ Tehillim

The Irrepressible Jewish People \ Tehillim

D'var Torah: "Trust in HaShem, strengthen yourself and He will give you courage, and trust in HaShem" (Tehillim 27). Why does this verse start and end with the same phrase, "Trust in HaShem," only to be separated by the middle phrase, "strengthen yourself and He will give you courage"? If we ask someone for help and he turns us down two or three times, we realize we are "wasting our time." However, this is not the case with HaShem! If we "Trust in HaShem," even if he doesn't answer us at first, there is no reason to despair. In light of this the verse states, "Trust in HaShem," and even if He does not help you straightaway, do not give up! Rather, "strengthen yourself" by remembering that HaShem will never abandon those who trust in Him, "and He will give you courage." Now that your confidence in HaShem is invigorated, "trust in HaShem," and He will send you the help you need.

Moral Lesson: If we trust in HaShem and He doesn't answer our prayers, it never means that HaShem has rejected us. Our living trust in HaShem grows each day, powered by knowledge that HaShem loves us with infinite love and will ultimately answer our prayers.

Application: Reflect on the verse: "Trust in HaShem, strengthen yourself and He will give you courage, and trust in HaShem." Internalize the message of the verse. Make an inner confirmation that HaShem never rejects your faith and prayers. Experience serenity by knowing that HaShem will ultimately answer your prayers.  Renew your trust in HaShem each day, and experience joy, positivity, and salvation.
