Follow the Footsteps of Avraham's Journey \ Parashat Lech Lechah
D'var Torah: "And HaShem said to Avram: "You shall go from your land, and from your birthplace, and from your father's house, to the land that I will show you" (Bereichis 12:1). The actual words of the verse are "Lech Lechah," which can be interpreted,, "Go to yourself." In this light, HaShem told Avram, "Go to yourself," meaning, elevate yourself to the beautiful goodness of your pure and holy essence. HaShem "gave permission" to Avraham to transcend above the material influences of human nature and experience his inherent spirituality, wisdom, and goodness. So too, the inner core of every person is his holy soul, that radiates goodness, wisdom, and light.
Moral: Avram was a spiritual journeyman, who courageously traversed a new frontier and discovered the great light and holiness of the human soul.
Application: Envision yourself receiving a message from HaShem, encouraging you to embark on a spiritual journey of self-discovery. See yourself detach from confines of the material world. And elevate yourself to access the pure goodness of your eternal soul. Enjoy the ultimate pleasure of being in the Presence of HaShem, the Holy Shechinah. |
