HaShem Loves Peace \ Enhancing Our Relationships
D'var Torah:
"He made the copper fountain and it's base from the copper mirrors of the daughters of Israel" (Shemot 38:8). The women of Israel looked at their reflection in the copper mirrors to make themselves attractive to their husbands. They donated these mirrors to be used in the making of the vessels for the Sanctuary. Moshe didn't think the beauty mirrors were appropriate materials to be used in the holy Sanctuary. HaShem disagreed with Moshe: "These copper mirrors are more beloved to me than all the other materials donated for the Sanctuary! Why? Because the women used these mirrors to strengthen peace, happiness, and love in their relationships with the their husbands."
Moral: There is nothing more important and beloved to HaShem than fostering peace, happiness, and love between husband and wife, families, friends, nations, and all mankind.
Application: (1) Reflect on your family members and friends. (2) Consider if there is a way you could bring peace between two people who have had a disagreement. (3) Give a dear one a gift to express your love. (4) Encourage a friend that needs a little cheering up. (4) Rejoice in knowing that nothing is more beloved to HaShem than strengthening peace, happiness, and love between people.
